MS SQL Database Create Vcloud Database and Configuration Steps Section Added to

3.1 MS SQL Database Create Vcloud DB and Configuration :

A. Log into SQL Server ———> SQL Server Management Studio.
*we will be using a share MS SQL server, The SQL server is set to mix mode authenication.

SQL Manager.(Programfiles(x86)\110\Tools\ManagementStudio\SMS)

B. Create Vcloud Database on MS SQL Database.
Right Click on Database object—–>New Database. I.E VCD Database.

C. Create VCD SQL Local Account. —-> Login —-> New Login—–> For example, vcdmgr .
* VCD Can’t use Window NTLM Account

D. Login New- vcdmgr- Authentication Mode- to SQL server authentication and
Set password.

*Make sure to uncheck Enforce password expiration due to VCD will break if the account is expired

E. VCD Local SQL Account Newly Created vcdmgr Shows Up under Security Object in MS SQL.

3.2 Vcloud MS SQL DB Configuration:
A. VCD Database Owner: set to the vcdmgr local SQL account.
-Select VCDDB under database folder—–>Properties—->File page
owner–vcdmgr- and click OK to proceed.

B. VCD Database Size/Autogrow: 1024 MB initial Size and Autogrow Settings 512 MB File Growth/Max File Size unlimited.
Database Properties-vcddb—->Files—>Database Files:–Scroll to right– to set Initial size —> 1024 MB and Enable Auto grown 512 MB File growth—->Max File Size–Unlimited.

C. Click OK To Proceed with Set Values.

D. VCD Database Log Set Initial Size: value: 128 MB, Autogrow value: 128 MB, Max File Size: Restricted File Size to 2000 MB value. Scroll over to Initial size —–>128 MB—–> Autogrow—MB 128—–>Max File Size-Limited(MB)–2000. Click OK To Complete.

E.VCD Database Collation: Latin1_General_CS_AS. *Note Recovery Mode can be either simple or Full.- This required step document by Vmware.

Set DB Collation—> Option—–>Latin1_General_CS_AS—->Click Ok to complete setting collation settings..

3.3 Run Script Vmware recommended Isolation level DB Script:
Use VMware’s recommended transaction isolation level. Click the New Query button again and then Execute the following query:

ALTER DATABASE [vcddb] SET SINGLE_USER WITH ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE;
ALTER DATABASE [vcdbd] SET ALLOW_SNAPSHOT_ISOLATION ON;
ALTER DATABASE [vcddb] SET READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT ON WITH NO_WAIT;
ALTER DATABASE [vcddb] SET MULTI_USER;
GO

A. Go Database Folder—–>Select vcddb—->New Query—->

Run VMware Recommended MS SQL Query Isolation Script

B. Click Execute to proceed script.

*Error Message due lack of VCDDB permissions :
*make sure DB user has permission to to VCDBD.
Msg 5011, Level 14, State 5, Line 2
User does not have permission to alter database ‘vcdbd’,

*script user as create to new query Editor windows option.

3.4 SQL Server Configuration Manager- SQL Server Network Configuration- TCP/IP Enable=Yes.
